Slow Cooker Taco Salad
With only 3 ingredients this slow-cooker taco salad recipe can be made with chicken, ground beef, or ground turkey.
We love all things tacos around here – taco salads, taco wraps, taco seasoning, enchiladas, burrito bowls. . . you get the picture.
Because tacos are so versatile and can be enjoyed with nutrient-dense carbs or without any carbs, dairy-free by eliminating the cheese or sour cream, gluten-free by using corn tortillas – tacos are one of my go-to entertaining recipes as well as a weekly regular.
We typically make something taco-related every Tuesday and either use this recipe for slow cooker taco salad, baked enchiladas, 5-ingredient fajitas, or loaded nachos.
This recipe can be made with chicken, ground beef, or ground turkey. If using ground beef I recommend lean ground beef to avoid an excess of liquid fat when it cooks.

Slow Cooker Taco Salad
Equipment
- Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 6 chicken breasts or 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup salsa
- 3 tbsp taco seasoning
Toppings
- tortilla chips
- tortilla wraps
- sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- French dressing
- ranch dressing
- hot sauce
- lettuce
- sauteed onions
- sauteed peppers
- tomatoes
- guacamole
- shredded cheddar cheese
- salsa
- olives
Instructions
- Place the chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Spread the salsa and taco seasoning on top.
- Cook on low 4-6 hours.
Freezing Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a slow cooker freezer bag and freeze flat. Thaw overnight in the fridge prior to cooking. Cook acoording to the directions above.
