Zach and I have been making homemade ice cream for the last 8 years.
Zach grew up making homemade ice cream with his family, and early on in our marriage, I got him an ice cream maker for Father’s Day.

Now we often make it for friends and family, and this mint cookies and cream recipe has easily made it to the top of the favorites list over the years.
We just hosted our Sunday School class at my grandparent’s farm for a picnic, and this flavor was the first to run out.
The key, we have learned, is the mint extract.
Use high-quality, organic extract. The artificial peppermint flavoring will not cut it.
Bon appetit!
