Red Lipstick & Jelly Shoes
October has been a whirlwind month. We wrapped up the football season last Friday and geared up for the last 4 weeks of rehearsals for Sound of Music at CAVOD.
I was honored to sing at Zach’s cousin’s wedding one of my favorite songs of all time, “No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus.” It is on my funeral playlist (yes I have one). And if my family doesn’t adhere to my wishes I will haunt them.
My character, Baroness Schraeder, is the woman in red. Red dresses and red lipstick to be precise. I have never worn red lipstick in my life, and red lipstick is no joke. It is super hard to apply and was even harder to choose one, so of course I resourced my favorite makeup pro, Marlena Stell, (who also happens to be the official makeup partner for pro-on-the-go fashion formulas for my new program Early Morning Habit!). Use Marlena’s simple 3 tricks below to find your perfect red lipstick color. I went with the neutral tone which I am wearing in the pic above.
If you are local and want to support the show we would love to see you there! Tickets are selling VERY fast, but you can get themย here. Due to double casting for the kids and one show featuring the understudies, the 3 shows Gracie and I are in together areย Dec 2 at 2p, Dec 3 at 4p, and Dec 9 at 7p.ย
The pigtails. What is it about pigtails that levels up cuteness.
Then there is this kid preparing his speech for student council in skin-tight skeleton jammies. and really it is quite the speech. Future politician right there (Heaven help me). His closing line, “We should take the time to get to know new students better because every kid deserves to feel welcomed and wanted at school.” That’ll preach.
Lily got evaluated for glasses, and when the first set of lines came up she asked, “Are these in Chinese?” The optometrist almost fell off his seat. Glasses that translate Chinese to English for one, please. She is outrageous.
Oh, and remember jelly shoes? Apparently, they are still a thing. She told me she HAD to have these FROZEN jelly shoes. They go really well with Christmas socks.
Lily and I stopped by our new property. and my heart did a happy dance watching run through our “backyard.”
We are working on the finishing touches of the initial house draft for estimating. I cannot wait to get started on this thing.
Precious time with a precious girl.
Yesterday was such a gorgeous fall day here in Lancaster, PA.
“The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his nameโs sake.” Psalm 23:1-3
Have a blessed weekend, friends!
