Meal Plan #95 & Coffee Grounds Hacks
Happy meal planning Monday! Enjoy this weekโs healthy recipes and 4 coffee grounds hacks to help around the home and in the garden.
If you’re a daily coffee drinker like me, you’re sure to have lots of leftover coffee grounds. Instead of simply tossing them in the trash, they actually have many practical and amazing uses in the kitchen, garden, closet, and more. After enjoying your hot cup of coffee, save those grounds and try one of these easy hacks!
Remove onion and garlic odors
After chopping fresh onions or garlic, the odor tends to stick to around, especially on your hands. Wet your hands, grab about one teaspoon of fresh or used coffee grounds, rub well, and rinse to easily remove the odor.
Don’t kick up dust
If you have a wood-burning fireplace, coffee grounds are great for an easy clean-up! Before you clean the ashes, sprinkle some wet coffee grounds throughout. The dust will be easier to remove and it won’t pollute the air in your room.
Keep pests out of your garden
Use your leftover coffee grounds to sprinkle in your garden to deter any pests, such as slugs, snails, rabbits, and cats.
Freshen your closet
Did you know that coffee grounds are a deodorizer? Create sachet bags filled with fresh or used coffee grounds and place them in your closet and fridge to freshen the air (especially if you love the smell of coffee!)
