Coffee and Conversation

Happy Saturday!

Raise your hand if you are ready for your kids to go back to school.

I truly love the laid-back nature of summer and sunshine, but I also crave the structure and schedule of the school year routine.

For one thing, it is so much easier to maintain my fitness and nutrition goals over the school year when my schedule is a lot more structured.

Plus I am not nearly as tempted to spend all of my time outside when the temps are in the 30s.

12 Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids

The school year is a great time to get your kids back on track as well. Yesterday I shared 12 healthy snack ideas for kids that are regular favorites in our house.

I say I crave the structure of the school year, but if I could spend all summer at the beach, then I might rescind that statement.

family on the beach

I recapped our family fun at the Outer Banks beach, and I sure do miss “our friend” already :).

We had fun going on our annual school shopping trip with Gram this week.

My grandmother used to take my siblings and me school shopping every fall, and now my mom is carrying on the tradition. They look forward to it every year.

Normally we go to the Tanger Outlets here in Lancaster, PA, and then do lunch at Chik-Fil-A, but this year on the way we stopped into the cutest little consignment store for kids called Little Botique that is operated and owned by an old friend of mine. Highly recommend it.

Lily was cracking me up because she kept picking out clothes for Caleb.

At one point she disappeared into the changing room with some clothes and came out with nothing more than a shirt and shoes on and said, “Bam (Gram), I need pants.”

Uh if you want to avoid jail time, then yes, yes you do.

Every year when we come home the kids want to show Daddy everything they got, and when I posted this pic on IG stories I got the following message from one of Zach’s good friends that made me laugh.

Love you, friend ๐Ÿ˜‰
