Coffee & Conversation
Itโs the weekend! PTL!
Grab a cup of coffee. Wrap yourself in a blanket. And letโs take a look at the week in review including some of my favorite blogging findsโฆ
Happy Saturday!
As many of you know I am recovering from what was a mild case of COVID which has primarily resulted in the loss of taste and smell.
I am out of quarantine, but because my kids tested negative they were stuck in it for a full extra week, and they are really looking forward to being back to school next week!
Rephrase – we are ALL looking forward to them being back in school next week.
That being said it has been fun to watch the kids play together a lot.
Cutest curly-haired quarantine running buddy!
At the beginning of the summer, I buy one of these Brain Quest workbooks for each of my kids to work whether it be on vacation, in the car, etc.
Over this 2-week quarantine Caleb finished his entire book which is no small feat as they are huge.
Gracie really wanted to take a picture marking the occasion, and then Lily was also pumped to celebrate it with him.
This week I shared 17 fabulous family recipes for fall. A fun idea is to have your kiddos look through the post and mix and match your own fun fall meal together!
My personal favorites on the list – the homemade honey oat bread and banana cake with whipped cinnamon icing.
SO GOOD.
We also chatted about 44 basement ceiling ideas. In our current basement remodel we are going with an exposed joist ceiling, and we will be painting it white.
This post offers a gallery of exposed ceiling ideas, metal ceilings, wood beam ceilings, plank ceilings, decorative tiles, and drop ceilings.
In keeping with the basement theme, yesterday I shared the before and after of our vintage Victorian basement renovation.
You should see what this room looked like once we sold the house. In fact, the buyers told us that this room and the kitchen sold the house for them.
Let’s check out some more great ideas from the blogging world this week!
It’s apple picking season! If you’re looking for a recipe to use up those apples, check out this easy apple crisp.
And if that doesn’t make your house smell amazing, this stovetop fall potpourri will.
Weekends are for DIY projects and I love this list of 5 outdoor projects to try this weekend, especially the DIY privacy screen.
Thereโs nothing better than coming home after a long day to a porch that is festively decorated for Fall.
I love the neutral, clean look of this white pumpkin mantel decor.
These tips for simple autumn decor for the kitchen is also super helpful!
This Chicken Tortellini White Bean Soup is a comforting easy soup recipe perfect for lunch or dinner.
Have a great weekend!
Happy weekend! Glad you are better and that the kids will be back in school! Fun to read through your basement post. Thanks for including my outdoor projects this week ?
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for including our porch in your post, Ahna, I really appreciate it. I’m glad you’re on the mend and will be feeling like yourself again soon. Dying over your cutie pie littles and the Brainiac Award – that is so cool – and well deserved too. Hope your week has been a fun one, CoCo
Of course! And thank you!
