Chocolate Chip Banana Bread With Greek Yogurt
With only 130 kcals per slice, this chocolate chip banana bread recipe is all the more delicious thanks to the flavorful boost of Greek yogurt.
I love a good banana bread recipe, but it has to be just right. It cannot be dry, and I do not like mine overly sweet.
As is the secret for many of my delicious baked goods (like these chocolate banana muffins), the secret to this delicious banana bread recipe is nonfat plain Greek yogurt.
As usual, it adds the perfect amount of moisture and flavor creating a melt in your mouth bite. These two loaves of banana bread disappear very quickly in my house.
One of the tricks I have learned over the years is to bake my bread in glass bread pans instead of metal.This allows for more even baking so you don’t have a really dark edge with an overly gooey center.
Another tip is that after the loaves have baked – freeze them. One, it locks in the moisture, so the bread doesn’t dry out, and two, you can then put a slice of the bread into the toaster for a deliciously crispy treat.
This recipe makes two loaves – one loaf for now, and freeze the other loaf for later.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread With Greek Yogurt
Ingredients
- 4 bananas, mashed
- 1 1/2 c nonfat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 6 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 c white flour
- 1 c quick oats
- 1 c sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 c chocolate chips
Instructions
- Mash the bananas in a mixer or by hand.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients together.
- Pour the mixture into 2 greased bread pans.
- Bake at 350F for 55 mins.
Freezing Instructions
- After cooled, wrap in tin foil and freeze.
