Weight Loss and Intermittent Fasting
Happy Saturday friends!
Raise your hand if you get tired of sensationalized news with clickbait headlines?
That would be me.
The fitness and nutrition industry is as guilty of this as anyone.
“I Ate This Every Day, and I lost 50 Pounds in a Month!”
Or worst of all is when an article states that “a research study said…” to drive home their sensationalized message.
Never mind the research study itself could have had a sample size of 25 people without any statistically significant results.
I am passionate about helping bridge the gap between fitness/nutrition and health/wellness.
It is important to understand how to dive behind the headlines and critically assess the information being given to you especially as it regards your health.
In my FASTer Way to Fat Loss program, I teach my clients the scientific why behind the what of the research-driven strategies to help lose fat and sustain a lifestyle of wellness.

Intermittent fasting is a foundational strategy of my program.
Several months ago an article was released in the New York Times suggesting that intermittent fasting is not only ineffective but potentially harmful based on a newly published research study.
Take 5 minutes to dive behind the headlines with me and into the research study that inspired this article, so you can learn how to make an informed decision on what may or may not significantly impact your health.
The below video was a response that I posted shortly after the article was published, but I realized I had never put it on the blog.

I have heard lots of positive things about intermittent fasting.
I hopped over from the Wonderful Wednesday blog hop. What a great article and video. I also question the validity of any studies reported in the news. And I question everything published by the NY Times! They have become notorious for lack of factual evidence in their reporting and I feel like they are primarily an opinion news source at this point. But that’s an entirely different topic of discussion! I have been intermittent fasting for about a year and I generally do 16-18 hours of fasting with only 6-8 hours of food consumption. Lately, I have been eating complete garbage during those hours and I have still be able to maintain my previous weight loss. I also find that when I get back to eating healthier while staying on my IF schedule, I will drop a few pounds fairly quickly. And then maintenance continues to be super easy while fasting. I want to end with this little compliment…you have the most beautiful eyes…absolutely captivating! Thanks so much for sharing this valuable information!
