You will need:
1. Lay the string lights on the ground the length of the gutter.
Always lay the string of lights on the ground first to get a sesne of how much extra lighting you will have or how much lighting you are short.
Remember that the one end will always have the solar panel, so be sure to plan where that will be attached first.
#2. Clip the first metal hook onto the soffit.
#3. Hang the first light.
#4. Tuck the extra wire into the soffit.
Carefully tuck the rest of the wire under the soffit to hide the extra cord,
Voila!
These metal hanging clip hooks make corners and awkward angles a breeze.
If there is extra cord that needs to be attached simply clip the cord directly onto the soffit.
#5. Attach the solar panel at the end.
In this case, I wrapped the solar panel end around the top of the downspout and clipped it to itself.
These clips make hanging any string of solar lights a breeze, and no tools are required!

Hi,
It’s not really a “hack” if you have to purchase the metal clips right?
Thanks though, it’s a great idea.
Going to see if I have something to substitute for the clips.
Helen
