To up the nutrient density, I add one scoop of collagen peptides to the drink. Collagen is a beneficial protein for hair, skin, and nails.
The powder dissolves instantly in hot liquid. I add one scoop to my first cup of coffee each morning.
For this recipe, you can eliminate this ingredient if desired.
I then add 1/2 tsp of cane sugar for a little added sweetness.
The secret to this recipe, other than high-quality espresso, is using half and half for your milk base.
It results in a creamy base with a delicious froth.
You can use other dairy or non-dairy bases such as 2% milk, whole milk, almond creamer, oat creamers.
I fill the electric milk frother to the minimum level or the first line. You just press the button and then it automatically turns off once the milk is done frothing.
While the milk is frothing I put a decaf Nespresso pod in my automated espresso machine.
This is the easiest and most delicious cup of espresso. We have had this machine for years, and you can read my detailed review of the Lattisima Plus Automated Espresso machine.
