Find large mirror decor ideas to create your own home decor vignette on a wall, side table, mantels, and more!
I love mirrors. I love vintage mirrors. I love the light they throw around, and the way they can take a simple space and make it feel that much grander.
I have been on the lookout for a large vintage mirror to put in the master bedroom of #ourthirdfixerupper. I have been looking for a long time for something unique and preferably vintage or antique. Well, I found it.
Look how gorgeous!!
The picture is grainy, my apologies, but this beauty is 82″ x 55″ x 5.5″ and weighs about a gazillion pounds. It was a large antique door that was converted into a mirror.
Look at the pretty detailing. #myfrenchcountryheart
Absolutely love the worn layers of time and use.
Searching for this mirror got me thinking about all kinds of ways one could decorate with mirrors. Find DIY inspiration to create your own mirror vignette!
Ah nothing speaks to my French Country loving heart like a chippy wooden distressed floor-length mirror with dried flowers.
I love the arch at the top. Stone and Beam has some pretty large wooden distressed mirrors as well. Check them out here.
Ok this mirror is amazing.
This floor-length beauty by Hooker Furniture from their Chatelet line also functions as jewelry storage. Check out below how the mirror swings open. #dreamdesign
Absolutely love that. Hmmm, I picture something like this in the master walk-in closet of Our French Country Home one day??
Ok now it’s time for a fun one.
This is Harry Potter’s floor-length Mirror of Erised from Pottery Barn. Notice the open antique books with folded pages mounted to the wall? #loveit
There are a lot of fun design ideas in this photo. To simplify this look, you could just do floor-to-ceiling wood paneling and do one wall with library book wallpaper.
Then on that wall mount this Harry Potter’s floor-length Mirror of Erised from Pottery Barn and then put the desk underneath it.
Also, the old steam trunk as a nightstand is a great touch in this room. Could also be put at the foot of the bed or actually under the mirror for added perfection.
You can find lots of vintage steam trunk replicas here.
Ok I added these pictures of Harry Potter’s floor-length Mirror of Erised from Pottery Barn because checkout this key wall?? #somanynails
What an incredible idea. You can buy vintage skeleton keys in bulk on Amazon.
For a smaller version of Harry Potter’s floor-length Mirror of Erised from Pottery Barn check out this one here.
This white-washed shutter arched mirror is the essence of a shabby chic cottage.
Simple and clean but distressed with character hung simply over a light linen sofa. Maybe add these pretty Mason Jar Rustic Wall Sconces on either side to complete the vignette.
Or add these gorgeous French Oak Chateau 1 Light candle-style wall sconces. Find a gorgeous white linen tufted sofa like this one from Stone and Beam and voila.
Ok, I like almost everything about this setup except for the scary stone tiger…leopard…cheetah? Cat.
Love love that mirror. I could picture a long narrow mirror like the one above propped in a corner with a settee and maybe even a little bistro table to the side for that wine and cheese tray.
Tres chic.
That same mirror can be found in the gorgeous walk-in closet of fashion and lifestyle blogger Shay Shull @ Mix and Match Mama.com.

I love the way my friend Gail @granshshdecor layered these gorgeous vintage mirrors over her mantle for Christmas.
Take one large mirror and anchor it to the wall then layer several others over it. You could easily leave this vignette year-round and switch out greenery seasonally.
This mirror from Amazon would be a great centerpiece for a mirror vignette-like Gail’s above.
This shabby chic mirror would also be a lovely neutral palette to create a mirror vignette.
It would also be a great size to hang over a repurposed desk to create a vanity/makeup table.
I love the way this vintage-styled mirror almost acts as a headboard to blogger Christy Little’s side table @ Our Southern Home.
Mirrors also brighten a space and can make a small room feel larger although this room is not small at all. Check out her beautiful French Country home here!
Lastly, check out this gorgeous vintage mirror wall as you ascend the steps of the home of Amber @ Follow the Yellow Brick Home.
Start collecting mirrors from thrift stores ( Ebay is another great option) and mix them with old photographs and one or two wall-mounted candelabras for a stunning vintage vignette.
Amber actually wrote a blog post about decorating with vintage mirrors, and you can read it here!
I hope you found some DIY mirror inspiration! I can’t wait to share my own mirror vignette. If we can get it up the stairs that is . . .
