Family Beach Trip Ocean City New Jersey 2022
Need a break? Come hang out as I recap our family’s beach trip to Ocean City New Jersey, and join us for some fun in the sun!
Welcome to the beach! Zach and I have been going to the Ocean City New Jersey beach every summer since we were kids. In fact, our dads grew up going to the beach together, and Zach and I met each other for the very first time at the Ocean City New Jersey beach when we were in high school. One summer our parents recognized each other as we were both vacationing there at the same time. Truth be told, I remember even then thinking one, Zach was hot, and two, very few high school boys played with their little sisters the way he died let alone with one who was 10 years younger than him.
I have gotten more questions about this crochet beach cover up than any other piece of clothing I own. I had 3 strangers come up to me on the beach and ask where I got it from, so if you’re wondering here it is! Not pictured here, but my favorite beach sandals are these super easy to clean Croc wedge sandals.

This was our first year staying for 2 weeks, and I am not sure Zach and I will ever go back to one. We have already decided we will budget as we need to in order to get our family away again for 2 weeks. It was just lovely. We were blessed to have Zach’s family come stay with us the first week, and then my family came to stay with us the second week.
We have accrued quite a collection of beach toys over the years, so I bought this large mesh laundry bag to store them all in. You can throw sandy toys in the bag and then dip the entire bag in the water to help rinse off.
Building sand castles with MomMom and PopPop (Zach’s parents).
This girl loves the sand. It makes my skin crawl just by looking at this picture.
There were moments when I would look at these two kiddos and suddenly see teenagers.
They looked so big all of a sudden.
Zach and his sister Aubrey playing paddle ball. Caleb and I were playing paddle ball one day, and the goal was to beat his record with Zach which was 29 consecutive passes. After a couple of hits back and forth Caleb said, “Mommy with your skills we can definitely beat Daddy!” 49 is the record to beat now, by the way. 🙂

Caleb grabbed Lily’s hand to walk across the street and then held it the whole way to the beach. He was pointing out different things to her, and it was just the cutest.
We taught the kids how to play the games Seven Wonders and Settlers Of Catan.
Lily got this nail polish set a year ago for Christmas, and she had a lot of fun painting EVERYONE’S nails at the beach.
11 years and still going strong. This year has been one of the hardest for us, and ironically, because of the resulting arguments/conversations/heart-to-hearts, we are doing better than ever. A happy marriage is a battle, but one worth the fight. Grateful we’re in it together.
Walking with MomMom and PopPop to the boardwalk.
Even walking is an adventure with this little rascal!
I recapped our night at Gillian’s Amusement park on the boardwalk here.
I love going on rides with my kids!
This side-eye pic makes me laugh every time.
Two down for the count.
Lily has been in an anti-hair combing mode for months now. This does not bode well for hair care at the beach. So I figured what better time to get it chopped?
Hair cut – check. Kindergarten here we come!
We had fun hanging out with all our siblings over the 2 weeks. Zach’s two sisters each came down for a night, my sister was there for both weeks, and my brother and sis-in-law came down for a couple of nights at the end.
Lounging with Gram and Aunt Lolo. By the way that collapsible mesh bag is one of my very favorite must have beach or pool accessories! We keep beach towels, goggles, and suntan lotion in it all year round for easy grab n go storage. This deluxe roller beach cart with built in cooler is our other must have beach item. Our last one finally bit the dust after almost a decade of beach trips.

After we girls showered we would snuggle in bed to read and eat pre-dinner snacks.
Once and a while we subbed one out.
These Strength bands are a go-to workout weapon for us on vacation.
Working hard. 🙂
I found Caleb doing my card deck workout inside which is another go-to workout on vacation.
Pin the image below for later!
I loved my early mornings at the beach. I used these two weeks to work on a super exciting project coming up, and I cannot WAIT to share!
Pictures with Lily be like . . .
Pictures with Caleb be like . . .
Walking to the boardwalk with Gram and BaPaw (my parents)!
Loved having my sister there for the whole 2 weeks!
My sister and her boyfriend, Tyler, (Zach’s cousin) started dating a year ago after they met on our Fulmer family beach vacation exactly one year ago
1 year later!
I’m realizing that we are standing in the exact same position. Even the boys. Ha.
2 generations of Sisters!
All the girls!
3 generations of beach babes.
Boys will be boys.
And these are some of my favorite boys right here!
Until next year!
