Living room furniture, living room decor, living room paint colors, living room design – there are so many ways to update your family’s space, and at times, it is hard to know where to start.

Before I share the EASIEST way to refresh a living room, let’s take a quick walk down memory lane.

Let’s chat about the updates, and see if you can figure out my very favorite change-up that made all the difference by the end!

This super-soft knit blanket is amazing.

It comes in several colors, and may or may not frequently make its way into my office.

These Roots taper candles are my very favorite.

They are the only tapers I use anymore.

I have tried TONS of tapers over the years and none burn as clean as these do.

Somehow my blanket baskets always get turned into boats, cars or a playhouse by my kids.

My beautiful new wicker basket is off-limits for boating this time around.

Zach and I originally tried to figure out how to incorporate an entertainment cabinet into the room.

Then we decided to build one into the corner to keep the room feeling more open.

I turned this 3 piece gold picture frame set into Scrabble letter art pieces based on our family verses.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

This 3 piece frame set comes in gold and silver.

The bottom of the entertainment center is the kids’ craft cabinet which is typically a hot mess.

I submit this evidence.

Thanks to some fabulous Wayfair products, It now looks like this!

These magazine racks are PERFECT for holding the kids’ coloring and activity books.

They are a perfect size, and I especially love the mini reusable chalkboard labels.

They could also be incorporated into a DIY organization station door as I did HERE.

It was really hard to find a smaller drawer tower, but this stackable drawer tower was a perfect size and holds crayons, art supplies, paint, and other odds and ends.

And NOW . . . drum roll please . . . the easiest way to refresh your living room?

CURTAINS.

Look how much different the light is in the next pic.

The previous curtains were a very thick material and the light that filtered through was minimal and cast a very tint on the room.

I absolutely LOVE these French Crushed Semi-Sheer Curtain panels!

They come in a set of 2 and are of really nice quality.

They are a lovely off-white shade with a hint of brown which is perfect for my decor – neutral and light without being white.

If you are unsure where to start when updating a room, then consider a semi-sheer curtain to begin!

Now I just need to get started on my fall decorating.
