Meal Plan #97 & Easy Soup Hacks
Happy meal planning Monday! Enjoy this weekโs healthy recipes and 4 easy soup hacks for the tastiest and easiest cold-weather dinners.
Nothing is better than a bowl of warm, homemade soup in the fall and winter. Up your soup game this season with these easy soup hacks that will make your dinners even more flavorful.
Add a squeeze of lemon
To boost your soupโs flavor and brightness, squeeze some citrus into your soup. This is especially tasty in clear-based soups, like Chicken Noodle, Tortilla Soup, or Italian Wedding. Lemons also have antibacterial and antiviral properties, so this is great to boost the immune system this winter!
Top it with some crunch
While croutons are always yummy in a soup, there are lots of other fun soup toppings to try out. Sprinkle some roasted chickpeas, seeds, nuts, or whole-grain tortilla chips to get that crunchy satisfaction.
Toss in a parmesan rind
If you use freshly grated parmesan cheese in your cooking, donโt throw your rind out! Toss your parmesan rind into your soup while it simmers for a salty, cheesy flavor.
Use sauce in your soup
If youโre out of canned soup, you can actually use sauce as a base with a little bit of creativity. For example, you can use marinara sauce and chicken broth to make the start of minestrone soup.
