Meal Plan #93 & Leaf-Raking Hacks
Happy meal planning Monday! Enjoy this weekโs healthy recipes and 4 leaf-raking hacks to make this fall chore easier and faster.
Everyone loves the beautiful fall foliage, but there comes a time when you have to rake it all up. Putting off the chore too long can hinder lawn growth, kill your grass and plants, and cause mold and fungus to flourish. With that being said, how can we make leaf raking a little bit easier? Iโve rounded up some of the best leaf-raking hacks to help you get it done better and faster this fall season.
Use a tarp
This is probably the most popular leaf-raking hack – the tarp trick! Lay a medium-sized plastic or canvas tarp on the lawn and rake all of the leaves onto your tarpโs surface. When youโre finished simply drag or fold up and carry the tarp to your destination. Repeat this step section-by-section in your yard. This prevents the constant shuffle of leaf piles across your yard, which your back and shoulders will thank you for!
Two rakes are better than one
With a second take and some upper body strength, you can use the two rakes as an extension of your arms, picking up a huge pile between your rakes. It takes a little coordination, but once you get the hang of it, it can cut your raking time in half.
Grab the kids and make it fun
Turn this boring chore into a friendly bit of competition! See who can rake the most leaves or make the biggest leaf pile. The prize? A fun fall treat or spooky family movie night. Make it an annual tradition that your kids will talk about and look forward to every year.
Try a piece of cardboard
Do you have a large cardboard box lying around? You can use this to โleaf plowโ – in other words, use it to push the leaves to your curb in one single motion. Youโll actually pick up many more leaves this way. Just make sure you are using a larger piece of cardboard so you are not hunched over.
Now onto this weekโs meal plan.
