Healthy Meal Plan & Easter Weekend
Happy meal plan Monday! I had such a great Easter weekend spending time with friends and family – especially the time with my kiddos!
How was your Easter weekend?
Ours is always a delightful juggling act between our families, but it is full of sweet memories and especially time with my children.
We celebrate our own little family Easter on Good Friday. First with our Resurrection Roll tradition.
Learn how to make these delicious treats and start your own tradition!
Then the kids look for their Easter baskets!
This year we put a tennis racket in each of their baskets.
Gracie was so excited, and Even Lily got a tiny one.
Instead of putting candy in their baskets, I gave them each $2 to spend at Candyology downtown.
When visitors come to Lititz it is not surprising that this little store is a huge hit!
Then we took the kids to play tennis. We had SO much fun. I couldn’t believe how long the older two kept at it and didn’t get frustrated once.
Taking tennis lessons and playing more is on both Zach and my buckets lists, and I would love to get lessons for the whole family.
We have seriously considered building a tennis court on our property one day, so we will see!
Lily was there for moral support and cuteness. Oh, and running after stray balls.
Saturday we spent with my family.
Dad’s notorious photo bomb.
We spent over an hour throwing tennis balls at 3 random buckets Dad found, and my 86 yo grandmother dropped more in than any of us.
He Is Risen! For the last decade and a half, I have been involved in music on Easter Sunday in some way shape or form.
Lifting my voice on a Sunday morning with my brothers and sisters in Christ is one of my greatest joys.
And yet sometimes there is also great sorrow.
Even as I rejoiced in a Risen Savior yesterday I grieved. Many of us leading worship cried as we sang from the stage itself.
Grieving with and for those in our congregation – an infant being abused by a caregiver. A 3-year-old lost to a river and drowned (the funeral is today).
And the stories go on.
Hard. Painful stories that steal your breath away and kick you in the stomach.
And yet those same families gathered yesterday to praise Jesus.
Some able to sing. Some barely able to stand.
Sorrowful yet rejoicing.
If you want to know how it is possible to know joy despite such sorrow, then I encourage you to watch the service below.
I put my phone down for the day, but I did snap this pic of Gracie’s Easter basket hunt with Zach’s family.
Yes, her basket was atop the poolhouse. Ha.
I truly hope your Easter was full of life, hope, and joy.
