Here is the range hood before.

This is a standard 30″ hood, and if any of you have a similar style then my measurements probably apply to you too!

If not, then just apply these concepts and apply accordingly to your range hood!

#1. Lay out the Pallet Wood to ensure similar thickness.

Did you see “How to Add an Easy Pallet Accent Wall“? There are some great tips and tricks on working with pallet wood.

One of the tips I mentioned is lining up your pallets and trying to find like widths and thicknesses and stack them together.

In this case, the width doesn’t matter because you will need to cut them to custom widths anyway, but you DO want to make sure the thickness is the same!

I might sleep with this cutie at night if I didn’t risk driving a nail through my arm.

It is fabulous.

#2. Cut the width of the Pallet Boards to 3 3/16″.

The width of the boards were all cut to 3 3/16″. This gave me two rows on 3 sides .

#3. Miter the corners and lay out the rows.

I mitered the corners and laid out my two rows. Notice my work table is our trash can. #makeithappen

#4. Lightly sand the exposed side.

Also look at that pretty detailing! Make sure you think through which side has the best appearance and Sand lightly before adhering to the range hood!
