Being A Matron Of Honor Is Serious Business
Especially when it involves food. Last weekend Emily, Tyler (the bride and groom), our moms, my SIL, Laura, and I got to spend several hours taste-testing the most delicious gourmet food at Excelsior in Lancaster where they are getting married this June.
The first hour involved taste testing a dozen or so hor d oeuvres followed by 7 main entree dishes that were meals on to themselves.
Look at those plates. This dish was my favorite.
Bacon-wrapped maple chicken with brioche stuffing and roasted Brussel sprouts. No leftover box needed for this plate.
In between assessing bites of food, I contemplated how to replicate this antique tin ceiling. It is so pretty. The entire venue is stunning.
3 years ago on January 15, Gracie accepted Jesus as her best friend and the Lord of her life; her joy on earth, and her hope for eternity. She shared her story here. Every year around her spiritual birthday I take her for breakfast, although such a glorious hope is certainly to be celebrated all year long.
We brought Quixx along to play, and in gracious Christan form, not to mention exemplary parenting, I crushed her. #scoreboard

Gracie spent the week prepping for her Lion King Jr audition. She got a callback for a lead role which means she has to test-read and sing for specific roles.
This was a weird week because the kids had off Monday and Friday, so I had this little cutie as my coworker. Speaking of weird and cute, Lily spent this entire game of Uno sitting inside of a laundry basket.
When it was her turn she would hand a card out the bottom to Caleb or Gracie to play for her.
She switched things up for the second game and played from her perch on Caleb’s back.
Which thankfully he found highly amusing considering she sat on him for half an hour.
Nothing better than sitting by the fire assessing offensive schemes with Daddy first thing in the morning. #footballcoach
This week I may have created the most delicious, light, melt-in-your-mouth treat yet. A whipped key lime parfait. Whew. It is amazing. I am still working on it (trying to get just the right amount of key lime flavor), but stay tuned!
