Meal Plan #76 & Camp Swatara
Happy meal plan Monday!ย We got back from a weekend of fun at Camp Swatara where we’ve been going every summer for over two decades.ย
Scratch that.ย My MOM took our kiddos camping at Camp Swatara for the weekend. Zach and I slept in our own beds.ย ย
For 20+ years now my parent’s Sunday School class has gone camping every spring and fall. My siblings and I grew up playing alongside a dozen or so families and now OUR children are coming and playing together.
Odin’s mom, aunt, and uncle were like siblings to me growing up, and now two decades later our kiddos are playing together.
These two were so stinkin’ cute, and on Sunday Lily said, “I’m going to miss Odin. He’s my best friend.” For the last several years my mom keeps the kids overnight in the pop-up and Zach and I come during the day and go home at night.ย ย My mom is a rock star, and the kids look forward to it every spring and fall.
Smile babe, we’re camping. Actually, Zach likes camping. I just caught him unaware and the pic makes me laugh because he looks so sour ๐
Swatara has a lot of fun things to do including a splash pad, a pool with a water slide, an obstacle course, a mini-golf course, a lake to fish and ride paddle boats, and more.
Isn’t it so pretty?
Cutest little flamingo face right herre.
Our kids play so well together, and it brings back a lot of memories watching them.
My brother came up for the weekend from North Carolina, and brought his sweet new husky puppy along – Quita.
Who Lily quickly made her own personal snuggle buddy. Why are kids and puppies the cutest thing in the world?
My weather app said it was supposed to be 60s and rainy the whole day so I dressed accordingly.
It didn’t rain once the entire day. Weather forecasting – the only job you can be 100% wrong and still get paid.
Look at Zach getting creative with his photography.
Andy, your KanJam frisbee throwing form here is supreme.
Saturday is always a shared potluck dinner, and my grandparents came up to join us this year which was fun.
Food, fellowship, family, fun – what camping is all about.
Did you grow up camping? Do you have a favorite camping spot?
Sunday night was Gracie’s first rehearsal for the spring CAVOD dance recital. She got a taste of stage life which included her first run-through with makeup.
It went really well. “Gracie, don’t blink.” “Gracie, you can’t squeeze your eyes shut.” “Gracie, stop moving.”
It’s a good thing I have upped my makeup game the last year or so or else I would have been totally lost by the page and a half of makeup instructions for this concert.
Ready for it? Swipe to watch my baby transform into a beautiful ballerina.
Oh. My. Goodness. She looked every inch the fairy princess as did all the girls on stage. I can’t wait to watch the show!
If you’re local and want to get a taste of the performance quality at CAVOD, then get your tickets HERE and come enjoy the show!
In addition to Gracie’s recital this week we are pounding the pavement to get all of our work done before we leave for our vacation with family to my aunt and uncle’s house in Tenessee next week. Work hard play hard.
