We arrived back from the beach late last night, and for those of you who have been following along in my Instagram stories, then you know this is a highlight for our family every year.

Um, why do my kids suddenly look so old?!  I mean it’s like they get a little sunshine on their skin, and their sweet tan faces look like they are headed off to college soon!

This year our family rented a house with my parents, Zach’s parents, and our sisters!

We are grateful that not only do Zach and I genuinely enjoy spending time with both sets of our parents, but our parents genuinely enjoy spending time with each other!

(Did you know that our dad’s grew up together and our grandfathers have been best friends since middle school?  We can save that story for another time.)

Well, I didn’t have time to finish up some of the really fun DIYs we’ve had going on over here before heading for vacation, AND I have some very exciting news that I cannot wait to share!!  Stay tuned this week!

For now I wanted to share a little travel tip, and it’s how I use our Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker to create fresh ground coffee for traveling with a Mason Jar hack!

Ever since we started buying all of our coffee from Gobena Coffee we have become major coffee snobs, and we aren’t sorry about it.

Gobena has whole bean and ground options, but the first time we tried the whole bean freshly ground and brewed there was no looking back.

IT.IS.SO.GOOD.

So good in fact we expressly bought the Cuisinart Grind and Brew in order to experience this yummy freshly ground coffee every morning.

#1. Fill the grinder with 3/4 c whole beans.

#2.  Place a new filter in the basket.

#3.  Press on (Make sure there is no water!)

You will hear it start to grind.  Once you can no longer hear any coffee beans grinding press the same button again. This will turn it off.

#4.  Empty the ground coffee from the filter into a wide quart-sized mason jar.

#5.  Repeat for a total of 6 cycles (can use the same filter).

A full quart sized Mason Jar is enough for approximately one full pot of coffee x 7 mornings (or one week of vacation!!)  You can buy the reusable wide-mouth lids here.
