5 Backyard Fire Pit Ideas To Make Entertaining Easy
Check out 5 backyard fire pit ideas to make entertaining easy and enjoy your time outside with friends and family.

I love fire. Candles. Fireplaces. Fire pits. Love them all.
I am so passionate about a fireplace that I designed one for every house we have renovated because I cannot believe that Santa condones stockings hung on a stair railing.
In the Vintage Victorian, we added a built-in gas fireplace with bookshelves that I built onto either side.
In the Colonial Foreclosure, we added another gas fireplace kit, and I built shelves on either side with baskets for movies and toy storage.
The French Country Cottage fireplace reno is my favorite to date. It took a lot of “phenageling”, but I pieced together an electric firebox with a solid wood mantel kit and added an antique mantel with a reclaimed brick surround. Be sure to check out 18+ ways to design with antique fireplace mantels.
As much joy as a fireplace mantel decorated for Christmas brings me there is very little that makes me happier than the crackle of an outdoor fire in the cool evening air of a crisp fall night.
There are few summer pastimes as poignant, nostalgic, and universal as warm evenings spent with friends and family around a fire.
Campfire songs, food made over an open flame, and stories that are illuminated by the flickering light make such evenings memorable no matter what the season.
I shared how we created this cozy outdoor firepit on a budget and the hack we used to string outdoor lights.
Building your own fire ring with leftover brick is super easy to do. You can read all about how we did and get the tutorial to build your own.

5 Backyard Fire Pit Ideas To Make Entertaining Easy
#1. Fire Pit Bar Side Table and Drink Cooler
A bar side table or drink cooler is perfect for storing summertime essentials such as baby wipes, bug spray, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, paper plates, telescoping roasting sticks, napkins, plastic cups, extra bags for trash, or anything that will be used on a regular basis by guests around the fire.
The advantage of using an outdoor bar side table that also has space for drinks is that the top can then be popped up and used as a space for food preparation or serving.
#2. Airtight Sโmores Storage Container
An airtight storage container is perfect to house all of the essentials for sโmores such as graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate.
Airtight containers could include a cereal container such as the one above, a pop lid airtight food storage container, or any sealable food container that will protect the sโmores ingredients from becoming stale. Store the container indoors when not in use.
#3. Mosquito Repellent Candles
There are many mysteries in life, and the purpose of the mosquito in the world is not the least of them.
An effective strategy to improve oneโs outdoor living space is to strategically place mosquito-repellent candles around areas that are highly trafficked.
Consider placing them on hanging planter stakes around the landscaping, the garden, a patio, or in this case, around oneโs fire pit space.
#4. Fire Pit Cooking Grate
Fire pit grates come in a variety of sizes to fit oneโs fire ring and are perfect for cooking burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, or a host of different campfire recipes.
There is nothing quite like food that has been cooked over an open flame.
Also, consider investing in an accessory like a fire pit screen to prevent rogue sparks from causing unnecessary stress. They come in various shapes such as flat or dome shapes, some of which can then be tilted back for easy access to the fire.
#5. Telescoping Roasting Sticks
There is little cause for more irritation around a campfire than a shortage of roasting sticks or when said roasting sticks are, in fact, too short.
Not only are telescoping roasting sticks conveniently shortened for storage, but they provide sufficient length for roasting without posing a hazard to oneโs forearm hair.ย ย
