With three house renovations and designing the custom build of Our French Country Home, we have spent a lot of time thinking about paint.
We have searched hundreds of photos, experimented with multiple brands, and assessed some of the most popular paint colors out there today.
I decided it was time to make life easier for all of us and combine this research into one comprehensive farmhouse style paint guide of nearly 100 of the most popular paint colors out there from the three brands that we have used the most.
The three brands that we have used the most are Benjamin Moore paint, Magnolia Homes paint, and Sherwin Williams paint.
Our local hardware store carries Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Homes, so the Sherwin Williams colors that I especially like I have them color formulated into Benjamin Moore or Magnolia Home.

Thank you for the handy paint color guide! I still love blue-greens and mixed my own color (from a pair of pants which had the color in it that I liked) years ago now for our first house for a main wall there. Then I took it to our next home for a main wall in that living/dining room which had 18 ft. ceilings at its peak and lots of windows. For anyone who is looking for a good color, look in the blue-greens as they are wonderful for receding into the background at night behind your furniture and appearing grey during certain times of the day/year and greener or bluer in other times. It is fascinating seeing how color changes a room!
