Use This Easy Hack to Refinish a Potted Planter
Learn how to use this easy hack to refinish a potted planter, and give your faded pots an upgrade this summer.
Each year when summer rolls around I think about how badly my resin-potted planters need to be refinished.
I have a lot of potted planters scattered around my landscaping and although they are in good condition, they are faded and worn.
Some of them are planted with perennials and some are planted each year with annuals.
My perennial planters include several with lavender, mint, ferns, and rose bushes. My favorite flowers to plant annually are coleus, vinca, begonias, and petunias.
It is easy to refinish a potted planter when there is nothing in it, but it can be quite difficult to refinish when there are plants in them.
The paint coats the leaves and the chemicals may or may not destroy the plants. But with this easy hack, it is super easy to refinish a potted planter!

#1.ย Wipe down the planter.

#2.ย Wrap the plants with tin foil.ย ย
Take the heavy-duty tin foil and measure out a piece long enough to wrap the entire plant.ย Taking the piece of tin foil, carefully wrap the plant and pinch together the ends of the tin foil.ย Tuck the bottom of the foil underneath the plant and pinch the top of the tin foil together over the plant as well to avoid any openings in which the plant could get sprayed.ย ย

Consider using oil-rubbed bronze, faux terra cotta, faux concrete, metallic, copper, white, black, aged bronze, or a bold color to give your planter a bold makeover.

Thanks! It’s Rustoleum Spray Paint Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze
Loved the tin foil idea. My pots are in good condition but due to their light color need a makeover. I just may try the oil rubbed bronze color. Thanks for the idea.
