Coffee Chat & A Kindergartner

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! This week was a whirlwind of activity including a much-needed girls’ night out.

Apparently, no one else received the party hat memo.

Best friends since high school and college here, we all had something to celebrate. Me – selling a house. Ashley – 2 years in remission from lymphoma!!! (if you missed my podcast interview with Ash she talked all about finding hope in the midst of hardship. It is my top downloaded interview if that tells you anything).

Kate, is pregnant with their first girl after 3 boys! Woohoo! And Jen just gave birth to the sweetest baby girl destined to become BFFs with Kate’s.

Meet baby Ainsley who made my week by giving me all the snuggles. Gosh, I love babies so much.

Sans party hat.

We ate at Harvest Seasonal Grill in Lancaster, PA. Their best dish comes out in the fall/winter and that is their fig flatbread (it is actually pictured on their website). We will definitely be back in a couple of months!

Give me a minute as I type this out. My baby is officially going TO KINDERGARTEN.

<insert all the emotions here>

How did we go from this little peanut to this kindergarten girl so fast?!

For some reason, Gracie and Caleb going to school for the first time didn’t bother me at all. I was excited for them and with Gracie, a little overwhelmed at the sudden change in schedule.

But because our adopted son is still only a concept, not a tangible precious boy with a name (we aren’t matched yet), Lily is still my baby, and she is old enough to go to kindergarten. <sigh>

This baby also has a propensity for organizing just like her older sister and her mother. She spent an hour helping me put books on our 4 bookshelves, and I have to say it made my heart happy to see all my old books out of storage once again!

This week on the imPERFECTly emPOWERed Podcast I chatted with the amazing Lilli Correll who shared her personal story of abuse and trauma, and her professional expertise on healing from and overcoming the effects of trauma.
